12-31-2010- The first decade of the new century is ready to pass. I give much thanks to all how have supported us here at ZP. There have been many ups and downs with running a small fan site such as this. More ups, hence why it's still running. Thank each and everyone of you for checking on us and seeing whats new in the zombie world. This has been a slow week. I have dome dun things to announce in the near future. Just don't have time to do it today. Thanks again and each/all have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
12-24-2010- Oh the holidays. The pain and suffering we all must endure. What happened to the good old days when it meant more to be with family and friends as to buying for the masses?
We here at ZP wish each and all the happiest of holiday seasons. For many, including myself, this has been a taxing year. Lets each celebrate this season well. And may the next year been much better.
Aim for the head - D.
12-20-2010- Has it really been 4 days since the last rant on this site? Wow. Just a few quick news worthy events;
The Walking Dead is being released March 8, 2011. In a short 2 1/2 months we can enjoy the six episodes we have so grown to love on blu-ray or dvd. The discs are rumored to be full of behind the scenes content. That alone should triple the length of the 1st series. Season 2 will be out in October of 2011. I will bet that opening will be on halloween again.
On the same note, AFI (American Film Institute) picked the Walking Dead as one of the top ten TV shows of 2011. That is something we all knew. What took them so long to notice. When a cable TV series is breaking viewing records, maybe we all need to take note. Just saying.
12-16-2010- So no walking dead. No real zombie news out this week. The only zombies I have seen are the ones who park their cart in middle of the isle at costco. I hate the mall zombies. That's why I shop online. Closed a small chapter in my crazy life today. The outcome, not what I wanted, hopefully it will close the book for a few others. We will see. Sometimes a split second decision that is for the greater good isn't really all that good. Game changer? Sure is.
12-12-2010- What are we going to do without the walking dead this weekend? How about watch the rain or for my friends in the midwest dig out of the snow. Coffee, tea, or beer? Your choice. Well friends, take it easy. AMC is planning on showing the walking series again in January. January 18 and 19. That's a Tuesday and a Wednesday. I'm waiting to hear when the release date for the dvd will be. As soon as I hear, it will be posted. As always aim for the head. D
12-7-2010- Pearl Harbor Day. My buddy's grand dad was there. He has a few amazing pictures if the event. Thanks to all the veterans out there. Glad my brother made it back with out too much damage. Love you man.
12-6-2010- Did everyone watch it? I've listened to mixed reviews. Some wanted more blood, some less. Some wanted more character development, some less. Over all it was good. This was the top watched program on cable tv. For those who may be new. I'm referring to the Walking Dead on AMC. Great serious, hurry and put it on dvd so I can watch it again and again. Season 2 should be good. From what I hear, it is going to begin shooting in summer 2011. It will be released just in time for Halloween 2011. A long wait I know. It should be worth it.
12-4-2010- Holy shit. No really, Holy Shit. It's already December. The countdown to the holidays is upon us. If anyone wants to send presents please do. Zombie flicks are preferred.
Attention: AMC is running a Walking Dead marathon tomorrow. It begins at 430 est. Episodes 1 -6 all in a row. How much better does the day get. Watch, enjoy, have a few beverages. Have on for me I have to work tomorrow night.
12-1-2010- Thanks to you. Yes you. We here at ZP had a record month in November. IT is amazing that all of you have stuck with us over the years. We are one of the longest running zombie sites. It's all thanks to you. I have thought about shutting this down a couple times. When I do, the stats go through the roof. I am humbled. Truly, thank you. - dino
11-30-2010- WIldfire I said it. Is this episode 5 already? What should be expected of Epi 6? One thing we all know will be a huge cliffhanger. AMC is going to leave us hanging for a while. Season 2 is rumored to be released Halloween 2011. Say it isn't true. As soon as I get confirmation, I will post it here. Back to that Wildfire. Was it a good call to go back to the city. Probably not. How about the sister love? That was a great part. Could you have done the same thing? I do have a younger sister and yes I could. Will we find out if the guy in the CDC is good or bad. We should already know that. This has been a great series. The only negative is that other stations are trying to rush out a few zombie shows of their own. Let's hope they don't suck too bad.
11-27-2010- As I sit here a play one of my favorite games, Plants vs Zombies, I suddenly remember the useless trivia of the day. Did you know that The makers of Plants vs Zombies (Popcap) had to re-do a character. The estate of late Michael Jackson had their attorneys write a note to the fine folks of Popcap. The note in short told them that the disco zombie looked a little too much of their late client (claiming trademark infringement). Popcap would have been of, hence the zombie was a carton characacher. They were cool about by adding a fun new zombie. He has dead fish in his shoes. Good on ya Popcap. We love you.
11-25-2010- Happy Thanksgiving. Everyone have a safe holiday. The storm is rolling in again. More on that one zombie flick later. Yes, I'm referring to the Walking Dead. Really, Happy Thanksgiving.
11-22-2010- Did you watch it? Who didn't? IS it me or do the episodes just keep getting better. I'm speaking of the Walking Dead of course. Episode 4 - Vatos; was amazing. What a turn the episode took. I agree with the outcome. All of the Vatos I know are good people. They would take care of me no matter the situation. I haven't seen the numbers to prove that AMC is kicking ass. I can feel it in my good arm. More to follow tomorrow.
11-19-2010 - So I received a movie in the mail today. The title; Pizza Man vs The Dude. I was told this has zombies in it. Haven't seen one yet. I have seen some killer doing what they do, 2 pairs of boobs, and a lot of really bad acting. If you want to watch a B (I hate to even give it that) horror movie by an independent producer from Boise, ID, give this a try. If not. Leave it the hell alone.
11-16-2010- So it's tomorrow. Or the tomorrow of said tomorrow. After a few discussions, sober discussions. I know. The 3rd episode was the best. We are learning about the characters. The question. Will we only have one good guy? I don't want to spoil anything this season. We will just ask questions and try to answer them as we go. Vague yes, it's better that way.
I was contacted by a small independent producer. He is sending us here at ZP a little film he put together. Can't wait to see it. Here in our neck of the woods its beginning to be Sundance time. Lucky us.
11-14-2010- Just finished the 3rd episode of the Walking Dead. It kicked a little ass. These are going to get better as the series comes to an end in the next 3 weeks. More tomorrow. Night.
11-12-2010- All the rage is still on the Walking Dead. Episode 3; Tell it to the Frogs. will be on Sunday. Will the series continue to impress? I think so. We will see the drama unfold between husband, wife, and lover. Not all the same people. Strange I know. Of course there will be some zombie killing. Sounds good to me.
On another note; I went to lunch with my brother yesterday. He told me stories of his Iraq experience. Holy crap. I asked him months ago to ask the locals about the ghouls that live in the desert. Only a couple of tales could even be brought up. The locals couldn't and/or wouldn't talk about the subject matter. A few that knew of the legends got scared and clammed up. My hypothesis - it might be true.
11-11-2010- Veterans Day. I am thankful for all who have and are serving in the military. You do make a difference. My brother was in Iraq for the last year. He was sure missed. I'm glad he made it home safely. The experience there has definitely changed him.
On a different note; I watched the conclusion of Dead Set last night. I touched on this earlier, Dead Set is on IFC. It's a British zombie tale. It's 28 days later combined with bog brother. I've never watched big brother. I hear the Brits are crazy for it. Dead Set is a five episode series of zombies and reality tv. It has a good ending. If you haven't seen it check it out. Each episode is 30 minutes. Not a huge time commitment. Good action, effects good, zombies are done well, and the characters are ok as well. I enjoyed the ending. Not every zombie film film has a happy ending.
11-8-2010- As i sit here watching the snow fall slowly from the gray sky, I wonder. I wonder what would I do in the place of our survivors in the Walking Dead. Episode 2 (Guts) aired last night. Was it as good as the first one? maybe, maybe not. It was still good. Did we learn as much from this one as form the first? Would using natural camo work? That was a fabulous scene. Chopping up a zombie to use its guts. It made me have a big belly laugh. With the way the local, federal, and governments are being dumb, this is a show we all needed. It takes our minds off of reality and gives us an hour of gut wrecking entertainment.
Watch these six episodes. Then go pick up the trades. Compare, share, bring your friends into the discussion. Remember to have fun with it. Our live have become way to short to miss out on the 'fun'. And yes, I would have left the racist behind. - Dino
11-7-2010- Tonight is another big night on AMC. The Walking Dead episode 2 is airing.Make sure to watch this one. If your a fan of the book, this episode shows the mall escape. Call it what you will, it is an escape.
11-3-2010- I sat up last night and listened to a heated discussion about zombies. Are they the new vampires? Zombies have gotten popular this year. Zombieland, Resident Evil, The walking Dead, and on IFC Dead Set. I haven't said anything about Dead Set. I ran into this little show in IFC this last weekend. It's a english cast, on five episodes long, based on the big brother premise. Those brits loves their big brother. A cast of big brother finds out that the countryside has been run over by zombies. I watched episodes 1 and 2. Not to bad.
So back to the discussion. Technically aren't vampires zombies? Zombie is described as walking dead. I'm pretty sure vampires are dead. Zombies get zinged because they don't have feelings. We don't care about them. Right? Wrong. Remember Fido. He was cared about. Another point made, zombies aren't romantic. A few shows may prove this wrong. I'm sticking to Fido. With that topic started. What's next for the zombie genre? How about a romantic zombie show. Good luck hollywood.
11-2-2010- it's election day. get of your butt and vote. I did.
11-1-2010- So what did you think? I thought it went went well. What is it you may ask? It is AMC's showing of the Walking Dead. The largest audience AMC has ever had. Good for them. Episode 1 was slower than I expected. It leads into a great epi 2. I haven't seen 2. I have a few friends who have. I'm told it's just like the book. The escape from the mall scene is amazing. Blood everywhere. I can't wait. Job well done AMC.
10-31-2010- HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
To all of you spooks and ghouls, have a great/safe day. Thanks for all of you support over the years. This has been a crazy month here at the ZP. Remember the Walking Dead tonight - AMC. It looks good.
10-30-2010- Thanks for all the info on the zombie walks this weekend. New York City, Denver, London (England), and Ogden (Salt Lake City all checked in. A great turn out at each event. IF you want you city listed, let me know. Let's give credit were it is due. Have a safe weekend. As always aim for the head. Tomorrow is the big night. The Waking Dead on AMC. Watch it....
10-28-2010 - We have all heard of Pride and Prejudice and zombies. The producer/ actress Natalie Portman has bailed. She is the supposed love interest in the upcoming Superman reboot. How can she be Superman's lady and be the interest in the upcoming Thor flick? Good career move probably. Thanks for jumping ship and leaving us zombie fans hanging.
in reality what are the chances of this show moving forward. The studio is having a hard time getting a director to commit and a harder tome finding the female and male star to lead this mess. Right now, we have a 50/50 chance of this thing going forward. That's too bad. I was hoping for a big studio zombie flick ti open nation wide. Maybe next year.

Sears zombie site brings extreme Halloween horror. The zombie site by Sears has the perfect appliances, electronics and fashions for Halloween. The venerable retailer felt the that new zombie website will help Sears sell to the undead.
The viral marketing campaign, just in time for Halloween, is most likely Sears' way of promoting its costumes and decorations.
Sears' site, which features blood-spattered corpses in place of the living models who usually grace the department store's homepage, even offers a zombie gift guide. "Find something your zombie will love and drool over for ages," it says.
The gift guide then invites customers to "check the appropriate box:" Is your zombie male or female? Is he or she slow, cranky, hungry or all of the above? And don't forget brain preference -- chilled, runny, boiled or a la mode?
Toward the top of the page, in keeping with Sears' usual format, ads for clothing and jewelry are zombie-fied, too. Taglines say, "Revive your style," and "Accessorize like the living." One ad for sunglasses even features what looks like zombie language: "Nah brabram. Bargz bra!nz haarh." Our zombie translator is out of the office today, but we can only assume the tagline means something like, "Name brands and bargains." The zombie marketing site has never been done before at Sears.
10-26-2010- Cable network AMC is planning to stage zombie attacks in 26 major cities to promote its upcoming zombie series The Walking Dead, The Hollywood Reporter said Monday.
The network has recruited hundreds of people to don zombie makeup and gather around landmarks in New York, Washington, D.C., London, Madrid and several other cities.
The staged attacks will begin in Hong Kong and Taipei at dawn on Tuesday and then spread across the globe over 24 hours. The final attack will occur at a premiere event in Los Angeles, where the cast, crew and media will view the first episode ahead of its Oct. 31 debut on AMC.
10-19-2010- UFO interactive/Epicenter has released a new game. Rock of the Dead. This title was originally going to be released for the wii. That didn't happen. The 360 and ps3 have it. For $39.99 you can kill zombies, aliens, and monsters with you power of rock. Set up like rock hero or guitar band you hit notes on the screen and fire at the oncoming onslaught. Regular controllers work, the game does support guitar and drum peripherals. Have I played it? No. Would I buy it? Maybe.
10-15-2010- Happy Birthday to my lovey wife. She's a few years younger than myself. Thanks for being there recently. It's been a bumpy ride year. Love ya.
10-13-2010- Sorry for the delay in zombie news. I have been having trouble with my isp and site manager. After a couple long weeks all is working as planned.
What has been missed? Walking Dead episode 1 will take place Halloween night. October 31 for those how don't know. I have been wowed with what I've seen and heard so far. A great story, good actors, and the blood and guts we would expect to see from this. The characters stay true to the books. One thing about the books (spoiler alert) the characters you get to know and love will die.
10-1-10- Here we go. The crazy time of the year begins. Today I just have a quick update for the gamers. I have left them out of the know lately. Sorry, I forget that your down in the basement. I have official confirmation that there is a zombie level in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Again there are zombies. That is the only reason I played the once prior. Gamers get you zombie on. As always, aim for the head.
9-17-2010- Another week screams by, another crappy day finally ends. If your not a zombie like me by week's end, what the hells wrong with you. Sorry thinking out loud again. On to something worth while.
As most of us know AMC is/has made a TV version of the Walking Dead. Season 1 is only 7 episodes. The early buzz is that this series is totally kickass! The producers and directors are using the book and some behind the scene images. Meaning filling in pieces were the book ends and we may have been left guessing what happened. It is being filmed in Atlanta, GA. Rumor has it the tank makes a big appearance there as well.
AMC has signed up for Season 2. 14 episodes are going to be shot. It's a good thing when your first season isn't out yet and number 2 is getting ready to go. I cant wait. Look for it in mid-October.
9-16-2010- Sifi (scifi) whatever they are nowadays. Is putting out a show called ZEROS. Zombie Extermination & Removal Service. When Marshall City is over run by zombies, some one must help clean it up. Something like that. It's sifi. Still some zombie stuff is better than none, right? Let's hope.
9-9-2010 - Resident Evil begins to air the newer 3D version tomorrow. I would love to see it today. The studio isn't releasing early or having early screenings in my market. That usually means bad things. I'm keeping my chin up and staying positive. When ever I can get a zombie movie released here I will support it.
In a lighter tone, and for those of you who haven't heard; Baltimore University is offering Zombie 101 to it's students this fall. This is for real. The class is said to promise that it will have you ready when the zombie apocalypse happens. In this class you watch zombie movies and read zombie books/comics. You will have to write. you will have to write a horror script and/or draw a story board of your idea for a zombie movie. So where were classes like this when I was in school? My GPA could have used a class like this.
9-1-2010- WOW it's September. I made it back from a seven day tour of Mexico.I didn't bring anything back but a major head cold. Had a real good time. No zombies to report on the baja. Way to many peeps trying to sell anything and everything. I give this trip a 8 out of 10.
The push is on for the main event in zombie hype. I will have much more info coming soon. It's that after vacation funk that we all love to hate. Stay tuned.
8-21-2010- What a crazy week. Ran into a a small legal issue at home. Wow what a learning experience. Well that is almost behind me. The good news, maybe the bad for some, I will be on vacation for the next week. Have the dog sitter ready to arrive at any minute. Everyone have a good weekend, I know I will.
8-20-2010- To my faithful readers, I am going on vacation tomorrow. Will be gone for a week. Meaning, don't expect too much from me during that time frame.
On a more serious note. Today has been a bad day for me. Have you ever needed a shoulder to cry on? I have. Has that shoulder turned as you thought it may comfort you? It did. My day began crappy and continues to be that way. I don't know if I should be mad, sad, disappointed, or all of the above. Sometimes the rock breaks and needs a stable platform to rest on. Sometimes that doesn't happen. ZP fans wish me well. As always aim for the head.

8-17-2010- After many months of waiting or forgetting, I received a copy of Zombie Strippers. What can I really say about this film that hasn't been said before. The title sums it all up. Yes, there are zombies. Yes, there are strippers. Is the acting good? No. Is the story good? No. Why was this film made. Writer/director Jay Lee has the uncanny ability to find the worst actors, the worst story, and the worst screenplays he can find and put them on the big screen. Why? One may never know. I have watched dozens of indie zombie films with 1/10th of the budget, free acting, and cgi effects that are so much better than this. It made my head hurt. I lost 94 minutes of my life I will never get back. Mr Robert Englund, is your career so back you had to do this? Maybe it's time to settle down on a island somewhere and watch the waves slowly fade away - like your career.
8-11-2010- Spent the last couple of days refreshing a tired system, my tired system. Had a small road trip through 3 states and a fine afternoon on the beach with the family. Gearing up for a zombie movie marathon weekend. Hang on for a few seconds. I will have all the details soon.
8-2-2010- The busy time of the year is now beginning. August through October things are a hoppin at the ol' zp. So many movies, mags, books, and walks to count are being planned. Hollywood has a few bog names you may have heard of Resident Evil: Afterlife, Sept 10. Many more indie flicks are scheduled to come out around Halloween. Let's hope they stay on track.
7-31-2010- HAPPY B-DAY TAY.
7-30-2010- Sometimes we make decisions that effect our lives and the lives around us. Some of these may be positive and others not so much. Some of the negative actions my cause a ripple in life and make positive changes in the future. Let's hope for that. I have learned, in my own life, that the actions caused by a few have will effect the many.
I watched a negative event turn into a calling for help. I have watched the many turn and drop everything to help the few. It has been an amazing process. I believe in the human race once again.
I still have a disappointing view on some of our laws and the way the are written. Sometimes the ones that are supposed to be protected really aren't.
A serious post for a serious week. My friends thanks for the support. If you want to chat hit me up; dino@zombieparadox.com
7 -23 -2010- Official news bullet. Brad Pitt, yes the Brad Pitt of Fightclub fame, is going to be the lead in the movie version of Max Brooks book; World War Z. Pitt's producton company Plan B won the bid for the books' screen play. Marc Foster is gong to direct. He is known for directing the Quantam of Solice. Right now the movie is scheduled for a summer of 2012.
Us at ZP are very happy with this news. It should be a good shoot em up, blow em up time. Congrats to Mr. Brooks. It's nice to have the zombie genre back in the headlines.
Zombie fans have a splendid weekend. I have about 15 old school flicks to watch. Added that just to make you fans jealous.
7-22-2010 - Howdy ZP fans. I know it has been a few days since the last update. The weird thing is, no zombie outbreaks yet. I've seen a few of them at my place of employment. Weird I know that I can't run this site without a real job or at least a semi real job. If I could take pics and post them you would see how horrible the zoms I work with are.
I have been listening, yes listening to a few books of the zombie. I know, I know, this is all about movies and fun stuff. Holy crap! There are a few great zombie writers out there. I've contacted a few. When they respond, I will put a few excerpts on here. TIl then - aim for the head.
7-10-2010 - This is why we love writing about zombies. Where else in the world could this happen? Read this story from KGW news in Portland - All I can say is AWESOME!!!
by Justin Burton, KGW news staff
PORTLAND, Ore. -- A car full of people dressed as zombies crashed on Interstate 84 near downtown Portland on Friday, causing initial confusion by people who witnessed the crash.
Portland Police said the car was swerving in the eastbound lanes of the freeway just east of the Lloyd District just after 9:30 p.m. when it rolled over and crashed onto its top. Emergency crews took five victims from the crash to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said that in their investigation they learned that the people inside the car were dressed as zombie costumes and they were headed to a party at the time of the crash. Sgt. Greg Stewart said people who witnessed the crash initially thought the victims' injuries were much more serious, because of the zombie costumes.
"We're glad that everyone is alive, despite being 'undead',"Sgt. Stewart said, referring to the costumes.
While everyone in the car was taken to the hospital, Stewart said crews are investigating the possibility that more people were in the car at the time of the crash but fled the scene on foot.
The crash halted traffic in the eastbound lanes for about an hour, reducing travel to just one lane. All eastbound lanes were opened at around 11 p.m.
7-7-2010 - One week into July. Holy crap it's HOT!!! So hot that even the zombies aren't wondering far from shade. I just heard that the first 6 episodes of The Walking Dead are near completion. Yep, I said 6. Rumors tell me that only six are being produced now. If they do well, another six will made this fall. Well at least we will get six really good episodes. That if we watch will turn into 12 or 13 kick ass zombies shorts. Please support this. The zombie genre needs all the help it can get right now.
7-4-2010 - Happy Independence Day!!! No new zombie happenings today. All the zombies know not to come out of hiding on this day. Way to many things that can blow you up being lit today. Everyone be safe.
6-29-2010 - The year is almost half over. The zombies haven't taken over just yet. It's nice to know with everything that's going on on the world, the zombie menace hasn't made any moves on the populous of our great world.
At least a piece of news that most will find useful. Remember a few weeks, months, years ago when ZP first reported Resident Evil is launching the last of the four again?
Resident Evil: Afterlife will be in theaters near you on Sept 10. It will be in 3D (of course), 2D, Imax, and any other format they can make money on. I must admit, I wasn't a fan of these for a long time. I never followed the video game series. My dear brother, god speed, gave me the dvds. I watched. Now I like. The tv is a very dangerous thing. Be careful out. As always, aim for the head.
6-22-2010 - Have you ever wondered were the term zombie came from? Don't feel alone. Many zombie loving freaks have thought the same thing. In the next few days I will post a bunch of trivial facts about zombie folklore. There is so much information to compile. I have most of it on my hard drive. I'm just a lazy ass and and haven't looked it up in a while. One interesting fact is that almost every country in the world has a word for zombie. Why would all of these societies have a word if it wasn't real? Language is a fairly simple thing, see it, name it. Think about it. More to follow soon.
6-14-2010 - The zombie world is very slow right now. Home video release is taking a down turn this month. Major movie producers are focusing on super heroes. They really should look at SImon Garth. Look him up if you don't know the name.
On a more important note, last night I listened to a discussion about Mr. George A Romero. The discussion was on his directing/writing demise. His early works were scary, gory, and politically charged. His most resent films not so much. Is this due to his age, is he he changing under the new political climate, or is he just tired? I'm not one to just the man that defined the zombie genre. Maybe it's time to let the zombie's ride off into the sunset.
On a more interesting note; Romero's latest flick has zombies eating animals. This is a first in zombie film making. It debunks the theory of zombies only eating humans. Can they be evolving? Did Mr. Romero just start a new beginning in the zombie saga? Am I looking into this way too deep? Maybe, one can only hope.
Good day and as always aim for the head...
6-3-2010 - Heading out to the Lake of the Bear this weekend. Need some down time and a few minutes with the wife. It will be tons of fun. Maybe we will see the "monster". Can only hope for as much. Everyone stay safe. Remember, aim for the head.
5-31-2010 - Today is Memorial Day. We need to take a minute and remember those who have given up their lives for us.
These observations mean more to me and my family today. I have a brother, weird I know, who is stationed in Iraq. I think he's hunting zombies. He tells me different - sometimes. Let everyone you know, or don't know, how proud you are of them.
5-27-2010 - I know, ten days for a new post. Let me tell you May is the slowest month of the year for zombie news. Meaning when the uprising begins let's all hope it's in May.
Check this out;
Timeline May 26; Those crazy Japanese. They have made this -

what is it? Glad you asked. It's zombie meat. Blue/gray in colored peppered beef jerky. Find some and enjoy.
5-17-2010 - First, let me say I know I haven't updated in a few days. Well I'm back on track.
Second, I didn't wish any of the mothers out there happy mom's day. I apologize. If your a mom, know a mom, have had a mom, want to be a mom, have the hots for mom's (ericki you know who you are), or find anything motherly, happy belated day to you.
Third, happy belated birthday to Demon. My oldest of 20 years now. Yes I am old. I find myself forgetting things - sometimes on purpose sometimes not.
Finally, I read an article about tanks vs rv's during the zombie outbreak. Both have pro's and con's. More pro's. Tanks do lots of damage are almost indestructible. Problem use lots of gas and maintenance is huge. RV's store lots of stuff are maneuverable, and are a very good command post. Long story short (and yes, it was a long story) use a tank for defense. Use the RV for everything else. You can take a shower in an RV, not so much in a tank.
5-5-2010 - Just heard of a little independent film titled Platoon of the Dead. Looks like it was filmed on location - in someones back yard. If anyone has a little more info, sent it. I'm being a lazy ass today and don't want to look thins up. So if you worked on the film, wrote, directed, catered, give us a jingle. ZP would love to give it a quick look.
5-1-2010 - HOLY CRAP!!! BREAKING NEWS!!! Survival of the Dead is going to be in select theaters MAY 28!!!
This is George A Romeros sixth zombie show and it follow Diary of the Dead. I know that last week this movie was released in Britain. Darn Brits. Enjoy the release in theaters. I will. Join me, buy me a drink, I will appreciate it. More....
4-26-2010 - Breaking news - What was voted the best zombie fighting weapon? Public opinion is the shotgun. That is wrong. A .22 rifle has been voted top zombie weapon. Some of the factoring criteria; size, weight, availability of ammunition, how loud it is, accuracy, and range. Once all of this was looked at a .22 is a good choice. Shotguns are loud, heavy, and ammo can very.
My choice (my voted choice) was the machete. The down fall was that to use you had to be very close to the subject. Was voted a the number one secondary weapon.
Speaking of killing zombies with a shotgun, rumor has it that the military has a new munition. Again rumor, the new ammo is a small missile that can be fired from a auto shotgun. It can find a select target or explode and render a group useless. Believe it or not?
4-19-2010- Let me qualify this post. I run this site from a macbook, use said macbook for all my everyday needs, and love my mac. I am not paid or sponsered by apple in any way (if they would send me a new macbook pro I would love them forever and ever).
Hundreds of new apps for the iphone and ipod touch featuring zombies have popped up in the last few weeks. Most begin around $0.99. Try them they're fun. Let apple know we sent you.
4-10-2010 - Our friends per say at hulu.com are having zombiefest. They have quite a few old, semi-good zombie films playing on that site. The best part; they are free. That's right boys and girls, free. How bad can a zombie shoe be if it's free. I've see a few for $0.99. That price was way too much. As we always say here 'if it's free it can't be all bad.' Check it out.
4-4-2010- HAPPY JESUS ZOMBIE DAY!!! I know I may be a tad late in the post, I had a busy morning.Had to find eggs (the ones the zombies hate get dressed, turn on the mac, you know the stuff that gets done. I hope everyone is enjoying their 1st official religious zombie holiday of the year.
From my family to yours - keep everyone safe and aim for the head.
Happy Zombie Day to all and to all a good night....
4-2-2010 - As a few may have noticed, yesterday was the great April's fool day. I played the fool. To my knowledge, the site is not shutting down.
Over the last couple of weeks, I have picked up many out of print zombie flicks from a local video store that has closed its doors. If you want them, they are on that one bay site. No shameless promotions here. Hurry get them while they are cheap...
4-1-2010 - After great debate and deep thought, I have decided that the time has come to pass the torch on the great ZP.
I have held onto this site for the last 2+ years, made a few really good friends, watched a shit ton of good and not so good zombie films. Watched this site grow from nothing to the number 1 site on yahoo and now the number 3 on msn. With deepest regret, I will shut her down.
Many thanks to everyone who has supported me in the various ways you do. Thanks to family and friends. Thanks to Jess for paying the service bill as they roll in every quarter (and thanks for being the wife of such a crazy zombie film fiend). Thanks to Eric for supporting a throwing ideas into my head when mine is drained. I will miss everything about keeping up the site. Except the enormous time that it takes. Thanks again - ZP out.....
3-29-2010 - Just a few short days away from the glorious egg hunting day. The site is a buzz with Jesus Zombie talk. The email is going crazy, the full moon is full, and the site is getting a few updates.
I have finally loaded a few of the hundreds of zombie walk photos I have received. Check the real-life section. Nothing says Easter like a good old fashioned zombie walk.
I have also run across many out of print zombie flicks (reviews to be posted shortly - by shortly I mean eventually). A local video store is closing its door, my gain.
3-25-2010 - Just over a week away from Easter. Or as we say here - Zombie Jesus Day. It's not at all sacrilegious, any that has died and comes back is technically a zombie. If your reading this you already agree - no explanation needed.
Have you ever wondered why we boil eggs for Easter? Everyone knows that zombies hate eggs!!!
3-24-2010 - For all who haven't heard, George A Romero's - Survival of the Dead was released in the U.K. today. As of this posting there isn't a release date for us in the U.S. Some may ask why?
He showcased this film at a well know horror convection last fall. For some odd reason no one would pick up this film and throw it into wide theatrical release. It may seem that the U.S. is being punished for the actions by a few. I know many that would like to see this. I wasn't lucky enough to be one of the select few who did.
3-16-10 - Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Have you heard of it. Of course you have. The book has been a best seller for months. Now the movie is set to begin filming. Natalie Portman is starring and producing. This is her producing debut. How will she handle the jump into the zombie genre? No one knows. Everything I have seen and heard tells me it will be really good or really bad. No kidding. I wish I could get paid too write crap without taking sides. In my opinion, it will be ok. As all fans of the zombie show know, some movies are really good. Most are really bad. Yet we still watch and enjoy all.
3-15-2010 - I had to take a few days off. Had a nice road trip to the Oregon coast. Splendid little trip. Now back to reality. Things here at the ZP have had a sudden change to the negative. I'm in the process of reevaluating life in general. Will this effect the site? It could. I have to decide if I want to keep the expense, time consumption, and rigors of this little site. Not only this one but the other I have in my world. Times are changing.
I will let you know once the final decision is made. I have enjoyed being the forerunner of zombie news. I have made some good friends. Check back, as with everything else in life, it all changes. Some for the good some for the bad.
3-4-10- Nothing new to report on the zombie front. I did learn of a local gentleman who is conducting zombie survival courses. He teaches them once a month. He is serious, no games are being played at his warehouse. He's one scary dude.
On a sadder note, I just received some life shattering news. Have you ever been hit by something, completely blinded, that just knocks the wind from you? I just had that happen to me. Didn't see it coming. I'm usually one for open mindedness, guess my mind isn't so open. Just makes for a very hard, sad day at the ol' ZP. As always if any comments, concerns, and/or any other shit you want to throw my way just contact me. Out - D
3-3-10- Jim Townsend, friend of ZP, producer, writer, actor, and founder of zombiefilms llc, has released his independent zombie film Attack of the Vegan Zombies!!! It is now on amazon.com. Go find it and buy, buy, buy. Support your independent zombie filmmakers. If you don't what will happen to this genre? Honestly, buy it. It's a good zombie show with a new twist.
3-2-10- We are now officially entering the busy season for zombie watch. The 40 day count down til the zombie jesus rises is on. I guess it's the anniversary of the rising we celebrate. Have you ever wondered why we boil eggs and hide them on Easter? Every one knows that zombies hate eggs. Weird I know.
3-1-10 - The Ides of March are upon us. Sorry for no posts in the last few days. The dreaded gomboo has hit the ZP office. Nothing like a few days of down time. That bug kicked me as I was down and kicked me, and kicked me. Much better now.
2-18-10- Have you heard of the Left for Dead Blog? If not it's ok. According to that blog, the entire population of earth has been zombiefied and killed 4.26 times. That's a lot of people playing that game and that's a lot of zombie killing.
Myself, well I have only accounted for 5,342 zombie deaths. Maybe this weekend I can improve on that number.
2-17-10- Everyone has heard of Dead Rising. You know the video game from capcom. Is in the filming process. Meaning it will be in theaters soon. Capcom has given the ok to produce, shoot, or whatever it is that they do. Will the movie be about the main character in the game? No one knows. Japanese trailers are all over the webs. Zombrex s a new treatment for zombies. BUt does it really work?
Also, Dead Rising 2 is almost ready to hit store shelves. A few more bugs to work out and it will be rocking.
2-16-10- Marvel is in process of putting out Marvel Zombies 5 (MZ5). Come on Marvel. I know it's a cash-cow for you. Stop. Just stop it. Marvel is bring in characters that haven't been seen since my birth. It is time to stop. How about let your artists do what they are good at and drawn a new book of zombies. Something new and fresh. Is that asking to much?
The Walking Dead, the most well known zombie saga, has been given the green light to become a television pilot. AMC is going to host this many, many book zombie story. I'm not too familiar with their work. I hear they will do a better job then scifi. Is that being to edgy?
2-15-10- It has been a few days, er weeks since I have sat down and made an important contribution to this site. I would like to blame Sundance Film Festival for this. Yet I can't. There were no zombie movies entered this year. At least last year, we had Dead Snow. Which is going to be released in the States on Feb 23. Watch for it. Some may call it a remake, some not. After so many years of zombie flicks how do you stay 100% original?
2-14-10- Happy VD. It is St. Valentine's day today. Wish all well.
2-4-10- Happy Birthday George A Romero!!! with out your work where would our zombie story lore be today?
2-2-10- Zombieland is being released today. Buy it - that is all. Still hate Sony....
1-13-10- Heard from Devils Crossing, release in April 2010. Limit screening posted. Hopefully it gets to the larger markets this summer. We will wait and see.
1-12-10 - Update I mentioned Devils crossroads. It's officially - Devil's Crossing. From their site and I quote "Devil's Crossing is an independently funded horror film shooting just outside of Charlotte, NC. Written & directed by Ryan Gary and produced by Paul Streiner, Devil's Crossing features an explosion of gore as the western and zombie genres collide. Devil's Crossing is an adult film." Adult meaning too violent. I put in a note to the director to get more info. Waiting to see if it will be a classic. Sounds like a little gory, head shot fest.
1-10-10 - Just had to write on this day. What's happening on the zombie front? Not a lot as of right now. A new independent show is being filmed in North Carolina. Devil's Crossroads is the working title. How good will it be? I will let you know as soon as I get a little more info.
1-5-10 - The Archives have been updated. Anything you may have missed is located in those folders. Thanks for looking.
1-1-2010 - Happy New Year. Thanks to all of the friends and family of zombieparadox that keep this site open. Without you there wouldn't be an us.
